Estelle began to hum out the beat, quietly, unlike some of the opera stars, she knew her talent, but did not boast about it. She nodded when Daniella should begin to sing.

Daniella nodded back and took a breath to sing, "Upon the hill he turn’d, to take a last fond look. Of the valley and the village church, and the cottage by the brook," she sang out, Nervously looking from the lyrics to Estelle and back again.
(("The Soldier's Tear" (1830)-"Music & Prejudice"))

Estelle smiled and nodded for her to continue, the song was one of her favourites, so very moving.

As she sang, Daniella watched for signs from Estelle for how well she was doing, She hasn't grimised once. Atleast I know I'm not hurting her ears, yet.
"She held aloft a snowy scarf which flutter’d in the breeze." She continued.
((lyrics are fun))

(I know, I invented some today!) Estelle closed her eyes to help herself focus on the music and tapped her foot lightly on the floor.

As she went on Daniella did notice that her nerves did settle some, but as far as how well she was doing...there was no reading Estelles emotions.

As The song came to an end, Estelle opened her eyes and smiled. "How old are you?" she asked.

"Sixteen why?" Daniella asked with a quizzical look. She sat back down not the bed corner.

"Then there is still time to train and strengthen your voice, any older and it would be too late." explained Estelle. "The voice can only be trained and taught to mature between a certain age. I would say that you have a very sweet voice, it needs to become stronger, you will gain confidence as you progress. I think that you are a mezzo soprano." she said after a moment's thought.

Daniella nodded, the thought of pursuing singing running through her head.

"How long have you been with this opera company?" Estelle asked.

"Nine years and three months to be exact." Daniella sighed as she pulled her foot underneath her. "Not that i'm keeping track or anything." she smiled.

Estelle smiled, "I wish I had been here that long, I'm afraid I've only been here a few weeks."

((ah sorry i forgot about this one with all the happenings over at Utopia!!))
Daniella smiled, "It starts to seem like forever." She sighed, "I envy you, who's known more than this in her life." She moved her hands to indicate the opera house. "If only I was so fortunate."

"Fame is not always fortune." smiled Estelle sadly, looking down at her hands.
(Lol. That's ok.)
