Alyna leaned against the railing, looking up at the sky. She spotted a flock of birds passing above, but other than that it was a clear day. It seemed to mock her, being so cheery.

Chante, pulling on her cloak as she descended the steps, waved cheerfully at Alyna before noticing her dour expression.
"Are you all right?" She asked, brow wrinkling with concern.

((I made this topic in the last two seconds I was on- now I have no idea why. XD)) Alyna looked up. "Yeah," she answered. "Just thinking about the opera. I have a suggestion I'd like noticed, but I think it's more for Chase than Madame Giry."

Chante nodded. "Might you tell me what your suggestion is?" She asked quietly, not wanting to shut her out. She leaned up against the railing herself, gazing out over Paris with Alyna.

"I don't mean to be rude," Alyna explained, "but I'd rather have it approved before I mention it. If it isn't, then I'll tell you anyway." She sat up a bit straighter, trying to move into a comfortable position on the step.

Chante nodded, understanding. "Not a problem. I understand." She searched for a moment for something to say. "So...how did you like the Masquerade Ball?" She asked. "I hear you got a bit tired towards the end..." She smiled.

Alyna chuckled. "Nothing moves faster than light but rumors," she said to herself, then addressed Chante. "It was very interesting, I'll give it that, but more for others than myself."

Chante laughed. "Too true," She agreed. "Word travels fast here." She smiled. "Well, I know a lot of interesting things happened. Like the Phantom's note, of course." She supplied. "Congratulations on the part of lead ballerina, by the way!" She added.

"Thank you," she said, not making eye contact, "but I wonder why I was chosen. I skipped most of the practices for the last opera." Her hand began to trace the intricate design on the rail.

Chante shrugged. "Perhaps He saw talent in you yet, despite your lack of practice." She suggested.

"I don't think that's how he works. He chooses favorites, or people he needs to use."

Chante shook her head. "I disagree. I respect that he recognizes talent. Look at how talented all the people he's chosen are! I believe that the Phantom's only wish is to make the most beautiful Opera imaginable. That is his only goal." She said firmly.

"Then you've never met him." She said it simply, like commenting on the weather.

"Have you?" She asked, surprised, and secretly jealous. She would like to see him, if only o be able to show off in little ways, as Alyna was doing now.
((lol, veiled insult...))

((Eep! I've been caught!)) "Yes, twice, though I doubt under the circumstances one would wish for," Alyna answered. "Both times it was underground."
