"You were pretty good last time," protested Alyna. "The only mistake you made was when you were by Carlotta."

"I know, but she makes me so nervous! I just have to find a way to relax. I know that I am just a prop in the backdrop and that no one cares about the ballerinas dancing. But when I am so close to the leads, I freeze! I can't explain why, I just do." Jeanne sighed and continued dancing.

"Well, Carlotta's not in it this time. It's Kristine and Solange, so you shouldn't feel nervous. I don't know much about the male leads, though." Alyna finished with a slow move into an intricate pose.

"Oh, I think I could dance on the moon when I look at all the men here. They're so delicious!" Jeanne giggled like a little school girl. "Ah! I should focus on dancing now."

Chante peered around the doorframe, watching the dancers for a bit and coming into the door so she could lean against the frame.
"Hey," She laughed at Jeanne's comment. "Stay away from my male lead," She laughed, and came into sit down against a wall. "How is the practice going?" She asked, wishing for the millionth time that she had such talent as the ballerinas had to have.

"Practice fine. Your male lead? When did he become your male lead? Just the other night you seemed reluctant to admit you spent most of the night with him," Jeanne said with a wink and a sly smile.

Laughing, Alyna stretched her leg, which had started to get stiff since they had stopped dancing. "Chante's been busy," she teased.

Chante blushed. "We...met this morning and talked a bit..." She allowed. "Perhaps I was fearful to say that I hoped for something when I wasn't sure if he hoped for the same," She added primly, trying not to laugh.
"I must admit, though - he could be a bit neater," She confided behind her hand in a loud whisper, giggling.

"You've mentioned topic to me twice already," pointed out Alyna, finishing her stretch and switching to the other leg. "One day we'll have to have a discussion about it that gets past its introduction."

"Ooh, I love it when they're messy," joked Jeanne, who was extremely clean with her things.

Chante laughed. "Well, Jeanne hadn't heard, so you'll just have to bear with me." She smiled.
"Are you practicing for the Opera?"

"They say practice makes perfect, so I assume it's why we do it." Alyna started again from the beginning. She recited names of the movements out loud to keep her concentrating.

Jeanne laughed at the comment. "No, perfect practice makes perfect," she corrected.

"I'm really confused." Alyna stopped and did a few grande pliƩs to relax. "Why are we doing this again?"
