Lynette crept onto the silent rooftop and sat down in her usual place behind the tower of the building. She leanded her head back against the cool stone and closed her eyes, feeling the breeze on her face. The noise from the city street below wafted up to her, but she didn't hear it. All she saw in her mind's eye was her family and the circumstances she'd discovered upon returning to her home.
A lone tear escaped her closed eyelids and trailed down her cheek, quickly drying in the cool breeze.
"Oh David, how I miss you." She whispered and clutched the necklace at her throat. With that she collapsed into heaving sobs curling up on the perch.

Anna sat down silently next to Lynette, seemingly oblivious of her neighbor's state. Chase had been ignoring her attempts at disturbing his paperwork, so she had gone to the roof to find something else to do. "I like your dress," she said without looking at the girl. Anna crossed her legs under herself and looked up at the sky, deciding that acting like a simpleton was probably the best way to get Lynette to stop crying. "Looks like rain."

Lynette sat up suddenly when Alyna sat down next to her. She hastily wiped the tears with the backs of her hands and sniffled.
"Thanks." she said and half smiled at the girl. She joined her new friend in star gazing.
"You look like someone with a lot on your mind. Care to talk about it?" Lynette asked the girl after several quiet moments.

((Anna is a different than Alyna. Anna's eleven, and she's the daughter of the owner of the opera.)) "I don't know. Maybe, if you go first." She swung her legs back and forth like all children did when they sat down.

((Oops...didn't see the name change...my bad!!! Sorry!))
"Well it's kind of and adult problem, but let's just say I'm really sad about my family right now." Lynette said smiling at the little girl.
"Do you like swinging your legs?" Lynette asked as she imitated what the girl was doing and found to her delight that it was indeed fun.

"If I didn't, I would have stopped when I figured that out." Anna tried to move her feet in unison with Lynette. "I'm Anna Molyneux."

Lynette grinned at this girl.
"Well it's very nice to meet you, my name is Lynette" She stuck out her hand to shake Annna's

Anna put her small hand in her neighbor's and shook it gently. "I hope your 'family problem' gets fixed, Lynette. I don't think you deserve any trouble."
((I didn't realize how much fun it was to play an innocent! ;D))

((It can be fun...but I've not had the opportunity yet...Maybe eventually...))
Lynette choked up with this simple statement. "Thanks that means a lot to me." She gulped through her unexpected rush of emotion.
"Would you like to go do something?" Lynette asked Anna who sat staring up at her.

"Depends." She watched her feet move in and out of sight. "Is this 'something' going to be boring?"
