Solange sat down in her corner of the dormitory and tried to untangle her unruly hair. After she finally succeeded she sat down at the desk and wrote in her diary. A lot had happened.

Charlotte knocked gently on the door.
"Solange?" She called out timidly. "Are you there? May I come in?"
She mentally kicked herself for coming. What was she doing? True, she admired the woman, especially for her beautiful voice, but she was just a lowly dancer, and, admirer or not, Solange wouldn't want to talk to her. Of course not.
She shook her head, trying to shake those thoughts out of her head. Where had all her self-confidence gone? She supposed it was due to this sudden change of surroundings. She had only danced at home, for herself or her parents before. Now she was dancing harder than she'd ever danced, and this was only practice! What would the actual Opera be like?

"Certainly," Solange replied. "It would be nice to have some company."

Charlotte opened the door and stepped inside, hands clasped behind her back.
"Yes, it is rather lonely here. It's such a big place..." She trailed off. "I'm just used to living in a small cottage, and this is so much different!" She laughed and took a seat on a chair.

Solange smiled shyly and sat down on a chair next to Charlotte. "You're right, it is huge," she replied. "It also doesn't help that I'm so shy. I have so much trouble speaking to people... at least that doesn't show through in my singing anymore." She blushed and changed the subject. "I can't wait for rehearsals to start for the new opera. I wonder what it is." Solange lowered her voice conspiratorially. "I heard that the Phantom was choosing what we would perform."

Charlotte jerked her head up at his name. "The...the Phantom?" She asked, breath catching in her throat. "Doy ou believe he exists?" She almost whispered, looking with wide eyes at the older girl.

Solange giggled. "Of course he exists," she said softly. "He keeps the Opera House running smoothly and changes performers if they're not pulling their weight. This venue would not be so successful if it weren't for him."

Daniella entered the room right in time to hear what had been said, "that is if you believe in that." She said none intrested as she walked to the corner and sat on her bed. "Right Solage?" she smiled at her trying to let her know she was attempting to kid.

"I believe it," Solange said seriously. "If you don't believe it I think you're crazy. So much happens here that can't be explained."

Roslin bobbed in to grab a tie to put up her hair. She had been busy helping Madame Giry with the piano as Madame Giry attempted to choreograph the duet ballet. "Oh, am I interupting...hope not," Rose simply said with a embarrassed look in her eyes. She had to find Kristine and Carlotta for their fittings. "Charlotte, Madame Giry says that you and Meg are to go try on your outfits in a bit," she said, notcing Charlotte.

"No, you're not interupting," Solange said. "I should probably get to bed anyway."

Daniella yawned, "i was only...trying to.....get a reaction." she blinked sleepily. "have fun Charlotte, don't let the Reine bit your head off too much, La Carlotta I mean. her bark is worse..." she yawned again, "than her bite."

"Humph!" said a voice from the hallway. Someone had been eavesdropping. Loud footsteps could be heard from the room, headed back towards La Carlotta's room. It wasn't even worth it to say who had been behind the door, for it was obvious already.

Charlotte nodded, bobbed a curtsy to the other girls, and left the room.
Was nothing sacred in this place? Privacy seemed nonexistant, she thought unkindly. Then she sighed and shook her head. She'd not make mayn friends with a cynical attitude like that.
