Daniella sat staring at nothing, tears streaming down her cheeks and onto her bedding. Her breath was bated as she shivered and sobbed. She had been looking forward to this day since she was seven years old, and when it had finally come, this is how she reacted? Her father was alive! Not only that but, he was in Paris and knew where she was. Daniella closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She wanted nothing more than to run out the doors of this place and into his arms, yet she couldn't get off the bed. So many confusing feelings stirred in her. What she needed...was a friend.

((she's crying and yet she still sits alone....ALL ALONE!! *hint hint* I guess I'll just have to rp by myself on this one.))
Zarek had been working hard that night preparing for the next opera. He had just finished one of the first pieces when he made his way back to his room, that was when he heard crying coming from one of the ballerina dorms. At first he hesitated, a male of his age shouldn't be in a young girls room, shouldn't he go and get someone? Madame Giry would certainly have his head if she was to know of his thoughts. Disregarding his instincts, he took the handle into his fingers and gave it a light turn.

A silent gasp left her lungs as she looked up in sudden fright. A man of well proportions stepped into the room, a look of concern in his eyes. Daniella hastily whipped a large droplet of tears from her cheek and with a small sniff asked, "What are you doing here? If you're looking for Roslin i haven't seen her." As she said this she glanced over to the empty bed in the corner a slight head tilt in that direction said it was what she was referring to.
((i can counter play or whatever it's called when you rp someone's actions for them, when i rp against myself! it's fun!))

"Who?" Zarek responded with a furrowed brow, then he closed his eyes and shook his head a bit. "I mean, no...are you alright? I..I heard you crying and well, wanted to see if i could do anything." He stepped more fully into the room now, still keeping a hand on the door and stood up straight. "So, are you?" he asked again.

"Yes...no....i'm not so sure really." Daniella breathed as she hugged her knees into her chest alittle more. "Anyway, why should it concern you?" As she realized she had said this in a insulting manner she added, "There isn't anything you can do..." her eyes rested on her toes.

Zarek's grasp tightened on the handle of the door as he took a step back, her response was enough for him. If she said there wasn't anything for him to help with then his purpose had been served, he turned his head away and started out the door when... "wait." a small whisper came from behind him.

"wait." she said again a bit more loudly than the first, "I really would not like to be alone." she stared at him watching for a hint that he might stay. She continued to watch him as he turned back around and with a sigh sat on the empty bed acrossed from her. "thank you." she muttered.

It was hard to keep track of time, to know how long they both sat there talking. It seemed they told each other everything, Daniella about the letters...even told him of her childhood and her deep dark thoughts and feelings. For a long time Zarek just sat and listened. When it had seemed she had finally ran out of things to say, he repaid her trust with his own story, of the ridicule he had endured as a younger man for his dreams of being and artist, and of its long awaited reality of coming to the opera house. Everything that one another said seemed to get the other started again. At the sight of first light Daniella had fallen asleep on her bed and Zarek was closing the door and heading down once more to work on his art. A feeling of close friendship loomed in the air.
