Juliana sighed. She was going home, with her family. But only if she could do one thing right - make this performance perfect, make it... right. But she would get the blame if anything had gone wrong, a single thing. She needed... she needed a friend to help her. To help her prove she is capable of doing something, anything, the right way. But who would do anything for her? No one really knew her, no one, except her family... and she had begun to think that they didn't know the real Juliana Corente either. She sat on her bed, and scribbled some notes. She drew a picture of her home, or at least what she remembered it to be like. She hoped to hear a sound, any sound, even the sound of a bird landing on a tree. But everything was still, and she had the feeling she was the only one in the world, the feeling she had all her life. Until, of course, she got the note from her parents saying they would come. Juliana had waited so long for them to say they would come, but when they finally did, she was overwhelmed with fear. Of what, she did not know, but she simply was. And worst of all, there was no one to tell her it was all right, no one to tell her she was going to make it through perfectly. Not even her mother.

Anna knocked on the door of the room quietly. She had been asked to clear out the rooms for practice, and she figured she could probably find someone to talk to while she did. She prayed this room wasn't Carlotta's.

Juliana opened the door. She was surprised to see who it was - it was Anna, one of her few friends. Though she was 11, she was one of the few people who didn't want to know why she was so - so 'weird'. "Anna! What are you doing here? And," she said, "why do you look like you just ran all over the place to tell people there is a fire?" Of course, there was no fire. But Juliana was curious about why Anna was knocking on her door, looking like she needed air from running around all of Texas.

"Yeah - the whole family. I never thought it would happen, but it did. And I am so excited - but you know I'm scared. My family is kind of, umm, strict. At least when it comes to operas. If they don't think it deserves at least a 7 out of 10, then they will complain and critisize it for hours..." She was too worried to add anything. Excitement had turned into fear by the end of what she had to say. She had only just realized the pressure she would be under.
