Philippe walked around backstage in a bit of a sulk. He had only wanted to watch the girls, and he had called out when the music had stopped. It's not like they had still been dancing.
Philippe glared at a pale sitting on the ground as though it was its fault.

Solange was heading to her dormitory when she saw the man. Overcoming her usual shyness, she asked softly, "What's wrong? You seem pretty angry."

"I was watching the ballerinas dance and got kicked out by Madame Giry. It's not like I was doing anything wrong. I was just watching."

Charlotte burst through the door, gasping, and then noticed the two talking.
"I'm sorry," She said quickly, placing a hand on her stomach to calm her breathing. "But does anyone know...where I can find....some water?" She asked meekly, swallowing hard.
This duet was no set of practice steps, it was for a full-on ballerina with talent and endurance, both of which she was only barely good enough for this Opera. Meg seemed to ahve no problem with it, and Madame Giry expected them to be able to do it with no problem. She was checking on costumes, and Charlotte had excused herself wuickly to go get a drink.
The problem was, being new to the Opera House, she didn't know where to go.
Then she recognized the man and took a few steps back. Oh, you're the one Madame Giry..."she stopped and shook her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't think you were...causing a problem." She said, struggling to catch her breath so she could stop making a fool of herself and breathe normally.

"I didn't think I was causing a problem either," Philippe said, grinning. "But certain other people seem to think I was," he added darkly.
"You can probably find some water in the next room over," he said. "That's where the singers practice, and we normally have some water in there."

Charlotte nodded gratefully and dashed into the room, glad to find some water there. She took a sip and washed it around in her mouth, swallowing carefully, holding herself back from drinking it all at once.
She had learned from experience that chugging water after hard dancing would make anyone vomit it all back up.
She finished the water, slowly, and then came back out, her breathing having slowed by now. She nodded again at Philippe, smiling tentatively now.
"I'm very sorry. Thank you for pointing out that water. This is harder dancing than I've done in...well, forever. I'm definitely not on par with what this Opera needs, I'm beginning to think the person who accepted me was blind." She laughed nervously, and then shuffled towards the curtains, to go back on stage and stop bothering Philippe.

"They weren't blind," Philippe called out after her. "You're a good dancer."

Solange smiled. "I'll get going," she said. "See you around."
She walked out of the room.

Charlotte was through the curtains before what Philippe said penetrated her ache-filled daze.
She turned around, and found herself face to face with a dusty, thick red curtain. She blinked, and then backed up, shaking her head quickly and hating herself for her stupidity. It seemed her only grace was on the dance floor, and the social graces category had been shorted.

Philippe sighed. She obviously hadn't heard him. Oh well, he'd have to tell her later when he bumped into her again.
Philippe headed to his dormitory.
