Jeanne had been wandering around and found herself backstage. She sighed as she realized she had just been walking around in circles. She sat down on a small wooden chair and rested her chin in her hands. What was she going to do? She didn't know the routine for the opera yet and she was exhausted from all the practicing. She sighed again and closed her eyes. Suddenly a noise woke her.

Zarek coughed, he had been balancing on his stool, mulling over a vast assortment of set pieces. A pencil sat upon his right ear and a paintbrush in his hand. He gingerly stroked at an outline of a leaf as he heard foot steps behind him, curiously he turned his head. "Hello, Jeanne." He said pleasantly.

"Hello Zarek," Jeanne said in a mock serious tone. "What are you up to?"

"Oh just dabbling really." He shrugged, "And what about yourself? come to spy on me?" he teased. He leaned over to his side and pulled a over turned bucket closer, then without saying anything turned back to face his art and continued to paint.

"Perhaps," Jeanne answered, walking closer so she could peer over his shoulder. "What a lovely leaf!" Jeanne teased.

Zarek paused in his stroke, and grinned, "Yes it is isn't it," he laughed, "I can only hope it will look as nice when i get the rest of the tree done," He said this as he glanced over towards the middle of the sheet, where there was sketched out a trunk amoung other leafs. Zarek looked up at her, "Would you like to have a go?" He asked, a light in his eyes, the thought of sharing his passion was a kind of bubbly feeling. "It's very hard to make a mistake."

"You mean try to paint?" Jeanne said, looking back at the canvas with wonder and awe. "If one can make a mistake, count on me to be the person!" she said, mocking herself.

Zarek grinned at her, "Sometimes mistakes can turn out for the better." He shrugged, "And if by chance i doesn't..I've fixed many of my own mess ups before." He said as if reasuring her it would be alright, "Come." He said motioning her towards him with his hands.

Jeanne stepped closer, blushing slightly. She pushed back her long hair to keep it out of the way. "Ok. what do I have to do."

"Here." Zarek picked her hand up from her side and pulled her closer, paintbrush ready for her to take. "Just follow the lines."

Jeanne looked at Zarek, a little nervous before she looked at the canvas. Slowly she let the tip of the brush touch the surface.

Zarek, his hand at her elbow, guided her arm ever so slightly, "Very good." He whispered into her ear smiling. Zarek kissed her on the cheek.

Jeanne turned her head and looked at Zarek, her cheeks a dark shade of pink from blushing. "I think I should leave painting to the professionals, but thank you."

"Oh," He said as if snapping back to reality. "You did rather good, nothing I need to fix." Zarek said examining her work. "Are you leaving then?" He asked.

"No, of course not," Jeanne said smiling. "Unless you want me to go?"
