Kristine stood nervously backstage. She was anxious for the overture to begin, she knew shewould calm down after the show officially started. she could only hope that the extra time had truely aided her voice.

Yves took deep breaths. He wasn't nervous, or if he was he didn't show it.
Jeanne was stretching in the back, away from everyone else. She had to be completely limber or she could hurt herself. As she stretched, she wondered if Zarek was nervous or if he was ready. She hadn't seen him in a while being busy practicing.

Alyna did a few last stretches in the hallway backstage, then dipped her toes in the flour by the steps and joined the rest of the ballerinas.
Anna sat behind her brothering, playing with the rope holding the curtain to the box open.
Carlotta's maid stood on the side of the stage to watch and come back to her without information. She herself was sleeping at home.

Kristine could hear the first notes of the overture begin, and she felt herself calming down with the music. She looked across the stage and could see Zarek in the wings across from her, she smiled at him and willed her body to relax.

Anna slapped Chase's hand. "Stop fidgeting, it's starting," she whispered angrily. "You're too tall. I can't see. Switch places with me."

Anna thought to herself for a minute, and then climbed off of Chase and leaned against the box's railing. "They all look like little ants from here," she said just loud enough for anyone else in the box to hear.
