Just wondering, since it hasn't been advertising in TG, and suddenly we've gotten so many more members. And I always like to find out how people found out about forums.
-While you're at it, when did you get into POTO? And do you have any connection in real life with it?
I'm from TG, my username there is also Alyna. I first heard of POTO when I was six, but last year I saw the movie and fell in love with it. I've read the book and plan on seeing the play, though I haven't gotten a chance yet. I dabble a bit in gymnastics, figure skating, and ballet, so the dancing was what interested me most. I'm not much of a singer or musician, though I sometimes play piano by ear. I really never felt the urge to learn to sing or play, but I've always loved ballet.

Um, I think I've forgotten now. Perhaps through the Clouds of Olympus RP. I was extremely bored and school was affecting my writing, so I thought, 'I like POTO' so BAM!

I found it through TG as well.
I think the influx of members is due to the RPG collection (there's a link at the bottom of every page).
Oh and how I found Phantom. Well, I knew the music, having played it in band and sung it a bit. I fell in love with the story after seeing the movie (unfortunately the musical hasn't been to Adelaide, my city in Australia, since 97) and then I read Leroux and Kay. I'm a huge Leroux fan and I write fanfiction now.

Oh, how I found POTO was I loved Sara Brightman. In a few of her CDs, she sang POTO songs. Then three or four summers ago, I finally decided to read the book.

lesse, my mom introduced me to the MC recording when I was a kid, of course, I didn't even get the sotry, she tried to explain it, couldn't qutie understand why he wanted to live underground though I think I saw the wishbone version of it too....still didnt get it. never gave it much thought until I saw the movie, which made me fall in love with gerry butler and then I saw the US tour, and realized that Emmy couldn't really sing . I was transfixed with the stage version, Gary Mauer and beth southard were phenominal, and thanks to them, I kept in touch, and well, when I went to see the show this past december I was waiting at the stage door and beth came out and gave me a huge huge. my dad was shocked oh, I also read the book right after I saw the movie also, and I think I watched lon chaney before I saw the stage

Oh man, I miss Wishbone. *tear* I think I remember that one- he kept her locked in a cage while he played on his organ. XP All I kept thinking was that the girl playing Kristine also played Joan of Arc, Juliette, and every other major female role in the show.

I saw this site advertised on the p and p forum.
My love of Phantom started when I saw a poster for it on a London bus, I asked my dad what it was about, I was 11 at the time. He told me the storyline and I became fascinated with it, he read me the book, then I read it myself, loved it. Then I saw the show and was blown away by it- John Owen Jones was playing the phantom- he is the one who sings it in the dvd extra part about the documentary of phantom- he is AMAZING by the far the best phantom I have heard. I have seen it twice now. Saw the film with my best friend...loved Gerry...loved the costumes and scenery....but still preferred the stage version. I have now sung the part of Christine in two concerts, which has been great fun, espescially all the bouquets I recieved afterwards!lol.

Alyna, you know how I found out... you told me on the Gathering!
I have seen The Phantom Of The Opera as a birthday present (late birthday present, on May 20th I believe). I loved it ever since then (a few weeks ago I had no idea how great it was, now I cannot stand it when people say they had never seen it), and became a complete addict. I now live life with Angel Of Music and The Phantom Of The Opera stuck in my head...
