Through an unused door, Alyna stepped into a hallway barely entered for years, though the only way you could tell was the thick layer of dust on the floor, but a man's hurried footprints ran straight across it.
There were two doors one could go through; Alyna randomly chose the one on the right as her blood began to race, a wonderful feeling for her. She opened the door.
It was a closet. There was a one broom and a simple blouse inside it, lying on the floor. Alyna shut the door and proceeded to the one on the left instead.
This one wouldn't open. Silently, her nimble fingers took the key off of her necklace, put it throught the hole in the door, turned the lock, and just as quickly put the key back on its chain. She opened the door, shutting it behind her so that if someone came through, they wouldn't know that she was there.
This must have been an old dorm room, assumed Alyna.
There was a large bed with a feather mattress on it, a wooden dresser with a mirror attached to its top, and a night table with dead flowers in it. The wall was painted magenta, probably to match the moth-eaten bed sheet, whose color one could not see by now. There was a fireplace in the corner with a small slab of wood covered with ash and dust. There was also a large book case on wheels opposite the fireplace. Alyna, guessing at what was behind it, pushed the book case toward the bed, revealing a secret passage in the wall it was covering.
Without a backward glance, she walked into the darkness of the corridor.
