Madame Giry lead the two girls into a rather large room with but a piano in it. One wall also had mirrors all across it. "This is my personal training room for myself and the prized dancers," she said. "I'm going to work with you to make sure you understand what your job is in this performance. Roslin," she said and then guestured to the piano, where Rose sat down a few moments later. "Look over the music." "Alyna, the part of Calita isn't like any other role. She is not a person or thing, she is emotion, feeling. So in a few moments I'm going to have Rose accompany you on the piano. She is going to sing the words and I want you to dance out how you think the singer is feeling, really feeling." After warm ups of both voice and legs, Roslin began to sing the first verse as she played the piano (though it was rather edgy). "Tears fall down, every day..."

Alyna began a slow dance, making more movements with her arms than her legs. Her movements became more profound as the song went on, and she tried to keep her face sad and serious. She tried to think of a depressing point in her life she could relate to while she danced, though a loss of a loved one she could never show on her face, for she had never experienced it.

"Stop," Madame Giry instructed. "Alyna, you need to look more flexible, thoughts are not solid, they are invisable. You need to be able to make the audience believe that you are nothing but a thought." She nodded to Rose who began again. As rose began to sing, there was a mysterious harmony that sang with her, though the voice was like a ghost's.

Alyna nodded. She tried to clear her mind of the rest of the world, only hearing the music. She made intricate movements with her entire body, moving even slower than before and bending backwards a few times. Her hands arms made large, sad gestures, and she tried to make her feet look sad as well; though it was hard, since both her feet leaving the ground made the dance look too spirited. She figured the other sound was Madame Giry humming, since there was no one else in the room.

The song came to the middle and Madame Giry haulted the practice once again. "Roslin, to the hall please," she instructed. Confused, Rose left (for good reason), "You're doing better, Alyna. But you seem to be missing something..." Roslin came back in a few moments later. "Roslin, what do you think?" Mdm. Giry inquired as if Rose heard the whole conversation. "Well, I think that she needs to get into the mood. With a night like last night, it would be hard to adjust to a sad tone," she said...though the words were not her own. "What else?" Mdm. GIry asked again. "Perhaps she should try stripping herself of all of her most prized possessions to see what sadness is really like," Roslin added. "And what is your most prized possession, Alyna?"

Alyna stared at the two of them, as if they were wolves tracking her down. She had never expected this. Her hand automatically to her necklace, and she tried to hide it by grabbing a lock of hair that had fallen out of her bun and twirling it around her finger. Something was wrong here, and she knew that if she said anything it would get worse.

"It'll be okay, Alyna. It's for the best," Roslin said, but her voice said that she was scared of what would happen if Alyna didn't comply.

((You're good! I'm actually shaking in my seat. XP)) Alyna heard the fear in Rose's voice, and understood something, but not everything. She looked around at the walls for eyeholes, then said to Madame Giry, her voice shaking, "You have no right."

"I know I don't," Mdm. Giry said. "But he won't...I can't change the way things are." Roslin slipped into the hallway and closed the door. A few moments later there were rosed voices from the hall. Then Rose came back in, her face flushed. "Alyna, would you trust me enough to give me you're locket just until the Opera is over?" Roslin asked.

Alyna tried not to look at the door. "I trust you," she admitted, and took her necklace off. She handed it to Rose haltingly, but showed no expression on her face.

Roslin pulled up her skirt and bit and gently dropped the necklace into a secret pouch on her undergarments and then went to the piano and began to play as Madame Giry backed off to give Alyna room.

Alyna danced again, and though her feelings showed in her dance they weren't feelings of sadness. It was a dance of anger, of being taken advantage of. She didn't look at Roslin or Madame Giry, and faced her reflection in the mirror instead.

Roslin didn't watch. She knew that this was want Erik wanted. He wanted to bring out all her anger, so that in the end there would only be sorrow. Still she played.

As the song ended, Alyna stopped and leaned against the mirror, trying to catch her breath. "I hope no harm comes to either of you," she told them. ((I have to go in five minutes, hurry if anything important is going to happen))

Rose didn't reply but merely got up and left, knowing that Erik had only caused Alyna pain and used her as a tool.
"That's good enough for today," Madame Giry said, holding the door open for Alyna.
