Solange stood practicing her scales, her mind running through all of the important things. Back straight, head up, breathe into the diaphragm, articulate properly.
It really did help, she realised. And she was going to have to practice every day until she got it right. No more leisure time for her.

"Solange?" Jeanne's voice rang high and tentative. "Solange? Are you there?" Jeanne walked around until she found who she was looking for. Jeanne went silent when she saw she was practicing.

Ignoring Jeanne, Alyna stepped into the room and watched Solange, confused as to why she was practicing alone.

Daniella peered around the drapings and black curtains that hung here and there in the darkened back stage, finally she spotted them all three, 'was this a party?' she thought to herself as she approached Jeanne and stood beside her. she stared at Solage seeming to be singing her heart out. it may have just been her imagination but, she thought she could hear a bit of sadness in the girls voice. it was then that she decided that Solage should have been in place of Carllota..why had the Phantom chosen wrongly? Daniella felt very sorrowful to wards Solage.

Alyna, hearing someone behind her, peered around curiously. "Are we having a four-way staring contest?" she whispered to the two onlookers.

Solange heard the comotion from the other performers. Sighing, she motioned for them all to come inside and asked, "What is it?"

Jeanne instantly walked to Solange, the others following behind. She didn't know what to say, afraid of upsetting the young singer.

Solange could tell by the look on the faces of the other girls that they were coming to try and cheer her up.
"Don't worry," she said, "I didn't deserve a part in the opera anyway. I haven't done enough practice lately."

Daniella placed a hand on Solage's sholder, "don't say that," She said with a small grin, "you're a wonderful singer and...and if this "Phantom" can't see that then maybe he's not as great as they say."

"You practice?" inquired Alyna before she could stop herself. "What I mean is, I don't usually practice when I'm not forced to. Maybe it's different with singing." A short, uncomfortable silence followed as Alyna's cheeks turned from peach to pink to white and back again within a five second span.

Erik watched the exchange from the shadows. Not as great as they say, huh? Well then, this Daniella certainly had a strong mind.
Perhaps it was time to give the girls in that room some advice. They all needed it, especially the singer who most definitely hadn't practiced enough and the little ballerina.
Soft as a whisper, Erik said, "Your breathing isn't right. You're still breathing too much into your chest." He smiled evilly. "And Alyna, practice is a neccessity for all trades."
Let the petite rats talk about that one!
((damn typos. They should be shot.))

Alyna wheeled around angrily, having no idea who was speaking or who she was about to yell at. "And you?" she exclaimed. "What do you do here? Cooking? Scenery? Or do you just like critiqueing ((excuse my spelling )) people?"

Erik laughed, the deep, musical sound echoing throughout the room. "I thought you would know the voice of the Opera Ghost. Non?" With that, he left the room, as quick and as silent as he had come.

"The Phantom?" she whispered. She added sulkily, "I imagined him... differently."

Jeanne was shivering as she hudled next to Solange.
"He shouldn't be talking. hiding his face," she squeeked.
