Roslin opened the door for her and Kristine. In the room was a sofa, piano, music stand and some other little things; such as a large painting on the wall, a mirror and a fancy statue. It was a speical room Erik had had set up for his new diva. "So, did you have a chance to look over the music at all?" Roslin inquired.

Kristine gaped at the new room, her eyes sliding over the piano and coming to rest on the ornate mirror. Realizing Roslin had asked her a question she turned to the redhead, "oh, yes. I did" she replied. "it's truely amazing, I'm really looking forward to it. I actually ran into Yves today" she said, "He seems nice..."

"I haven't really, really met him. I only saw him at the Masquerade a few times," Roslin said arranging the music for the first song. Good job, Erik. You got all of the music here, she thought with a smile. "I think you have a duet with him..." she said, glancing over some music.

"I think I do too..." Kristine said, looking over Roslin's shoulder. "I haven't really met him either, I just saw him when I stopped in to get my fittings done. How was the masquerade, I'm sorry I missed it"

"It was fun I suppose, though ofcourse the Ghost had to be involved somehow, but it was truly nothing dramatic," Roslin replied honestly. Erik had wanted her to bring Kristine down to his dwelling to practice, but Rose insisted that was not the best idea.

" oh...that seems odd...I wonder why he would appear subtly..."Kristine let the sentence trail off, "it seems in every other story I've heard about him, he's been rather obvious" she smiled and winked at roslin before walking over to the piano and flipping through the score that lay on it.

"You ready? How about some warm ups and then we'll start the songs," Roslin suggested as she began to play a scale.

Kristine nodded, "sure", she grabbed her copy of the libretto and went to stand next the piano.

Roslin played a few scales as Kristine sang along, then went through a few 'Me-My-Mow-Moon' exercises. "Which song first?" Rosling asked when they had finished.

"how about Alavda's opening aria?" Kristine suggested. She shifted her head to strench out her nek muscles before turning to the correct song. As Roslin began to play the opening chords, Kristine felt herself begin to abosrb the music. When she opened her mouth to sing, she was suprised by the clarity of sound. she couldn't remember having that kind of projection, even when onstage. It was all she could do to continue-and not stop out of surprise and exceitment.

Roslin thought that Kristine sounded great, but Erik thought something left to be desired. He knocked softly on the wall, (on the other side ofcourse) and Roslin just barely heard it. "Sounded good, let's try it again. I'm only going to play the melody so that we can get those VERY few sharp and flat notes worked out," Rose suggested.

Kristine nodded "alright" she said, " would you like me to start from the beginning, or where we left off?"

((They finished the song...)) "From the beginning," Roslin said and gave Kristine time to get back to the first page.

Kristine nodded and turned back to the beginning of the song as Roslin began the intro to the vocal melody.

Roslin got rather bored playing the song with only one hand, one note at a time, but she knew that it was very improtant. They finished the song, the knock and then she said "Okay, now lets go through it again, one last time, I promise."
