This was it, if she had been waiting for a better time then now, she had missed her chance. Two opera's had gone by in the last few months everyone around her seemed to be getting lead parts except her. Well maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. Okay she hadn't been the only one but, her expectations of herself had landed flat. Who was she kidding? All of her friends here at the Opera House worked hard for their parts. What had she done? Nothing absolutely nothing! Was she waiting for a grand role to just be dropped into her lap? She knew better! If you want something, you have to work for it. Not only work but, work Hard. This was it! Play time was over. It's time to get serious.
Hours came and went. Sweat dripped from the tip of her nose to the small of her back. Daniella was very greatful that the room she had chosen was mirror less. She would not have liked to see her appearance. Her leotard felt tight as she swirled and turned, leaped and jumped into all hours of the night. Repeating steps over and over, until she could do them without thought. Yet she continued to dance, dance until her feet went numb and her legs as jell-o. She forced herself to finish the steps of her favorite aria before she calapsed onto the hard wooden floor. Gasping at breath itself, trying to take in as much as she could. It was to bad the famous Opera Ghost was not here to see her. A few more nights like this and she wouldn't be able to stand.
((i know, it's a bit of a novel...so shoot me! lol))

Roslin was walking by, just from a visit with her bother when she heard something fall and then heavy breathing. She looked around the corner to see Daniella the ballerina sitting on the floor, dripping wet and breathing hard. "Are you all right, Daniella?" she asked softly, looking into the room but not stepping through the doorway.

Daniella barely looked up, and in a deep breath answered, "yes, I'm alright." she attempted to stand but, faltered, "just really tired." she whipped the sweat from her brow and turned her weight to her knees. then with a quizzical look asked, "what are you doing up so late," she paused, "infact you haven't been to bed on time for quite some time...i should know we share a room!" Daniella kidded, starring at Rose as if waiting for a good answer.

"I've just been staying up later to help Mdm. Giry clean up a few things. She has been really tired lately. I heard you guys worked hard for the last opera," she said, she lied. But it doesn't show at all. These 'small' lies had been easier to tell as time had gone on.

Daniella scoffed, "Well I can see why she would! scolding and correcting us all the time." immediately after saying this she half cleared her throat as if she realized she shouldn't have said that. She furrowed her brow, "Where you with her just now?" she questioned, "I thought she went to bed earlier than most.."

"Normally she does, but she just wanted some help. Apparently the bills got messed up and wine keeps getting 'borrowed', so she asked me to help out. It shouldn't be for too long though. We almost finished tonight, but I insisted it was time for bed." The bills were a mess and they were almost sorted though. Did it matter how much Rose had really helped?

Daniella laughed, "You sure the 'Opera Ghost' doesn't mind his last minute chorus girl not getting her sleep?" She winked. Daniella then turned her attention to the wine comment as not to miss her chance at a jibe. "That's it! he's too busy being soused to care!" she smiled.

"I doubt it," Roslin began. She was going to say 'he hates wine before sleep', but stopped herself. "The Phantom probably is too busy picking out the mistakes in his opera: 'she slipped in the ballet, he sang a flat note, they weren't in sync'," Roslin said and laughed.

Daniella smiled at that, "Well, if he's that picky.." she began, "maybe he should think about giving it up entirely?!" She giggled, now feeling allot more energetic. Daniella stood and started working her muscles, if she let them sit for too long after the work she just gave them she would be hurting tomorrow for sure. "You think he has his favorites?" she said almost to herself, then added with a quick glance towards Rose, "I mean that is, if he isn't just a fictional character." Although Daniella knew very well that he was 'real' she couldn't help but, keep a false sense of innocence.

"Well, I wouldn't call them favorites, but I think he definetly knows who is the best at something and so giving them lead roles so that the opera goes smoothly," Roslin said truthfully...for once.

Daniella looked down at her fingers twitling together. "Well, that's not how i would do it." she murmured, "instead of just annoucing parts, i'd hold some kind of audition..let everyone have a fair chance." she looked up at Rose, "Cause how do you know if someone has been holding out or something?"
She then changed the subject, "I hear you sometimes...at night," she nervously glanced back down at the floor, "talking, and its not like you're talking to you're self or anything...like you are speaking to someone." Daniella knew that this comment would probably make Roslin leave, but she felt she had to ask. She shuffled her feet waiting for a response.
((hey you said they shared a dorm remember?))

((Yeah...tehe, did I say they didn't in this thread?))
"Ofcourse!" Roslin laughed. "You've never talked to the dark?" Rose inquired. "Though I think that the Phantom has a certain knack for picking the right people. I'd say secretly listening and watching them in their private times gives him more information on their ablitiy than an audition could."

((no just reminding...hehe))
Daniella's eyes locked into focus with Rose's, "Then you mean, you've talked to him?" she asked still not wavering from the "talking to someone" aspect of her comment. A cold chill had gone up her spine. The realization of all the little things she had brushed off had finally fallen into place. "Have you seen him?" she whispered.

"A few times, but nothing major. Only as much as a shadow and the like," Roslin said. It wasn't too much of a surprise, she thought. Others had boasted of seeing him as well. She went around the talking part quite easily she thought, answering the second question only.

((when you are done with my layout maybe i'll have to make a doll of Rose...cause you don't have one up and the only other i've seen on your site isn't marked as a character...))
Daniella couldn't shake the feeling that Rose wasn't telling her something, but wisely she decided to by pass it for now. Instead she nodded her head as if to say that she understood and then, "I found out who those letters were from..you remember? the ones i have under my bed?"
