Anna climbed onto one of the stone horse's backs, steadying herself. She did it so often that it was no trouble to do it. She wrapped her arms around its neck and closed her eyes just as a strong wind came on, giving Anna the sensation of riding without the uncomfortable swaying of the horse. It was a clear day, perfect for being outside.

Estelle had decided that today, she would explore the opera house. She wrapped a grey shawl around her bony shoulder and began climbing the stairs, not stopping till she had reached the top, she had to escape the opressive interior which seemed to repress her soul. She opened the door that led onto the rooftop and stared around her, suddenly she saw a girl sitting astride one of the giant statues of a horse. "Oh! Be Careful!" She cried out.

Anna gasped as the sudden voice knocked her off balance and she almost slipped off the horse. She turned around to look at the girl who had screamed. "Oh, it's fine. My lovely winged horse would never hurt me. Why don't you try climbing on?"

Estelle gave a nervous little laugh, "Oh no, thank you, for I am not half as brave as you seem to be. It is enough for me just to be standing on the rooftop." She smiled. "Sorry for having disturbed you, I just needed to clear my head...it can get a bit opressive down there..." she shuddered.

"I don't have to worry about that yet." Anna slipped easily off of her horse. "Still training."

"I marvel at your flexibility and grace, but then they are typical traits of a dancer I suppose!" Estelle gave a nervous laugh, the wind whipping through her dark brown hair. She came forwards, holding out her hand, "My name is Estelle Brooks by the way."

((She's not a dancer, she's an actress- and she's 11. Maybe I should change her name so people stop confusing her with Alyna. XP)) Anna gripped the other girl's hand with both of her own and shook vigorously as her devious thoughts raced. "I read that if you keep in motion you stay warm. We should do this until the wind stops blowing."

(Whoops! Sorry!) Estelle giggled, "Yes I suppose that would help!" She suddenly let go of her hand and said, "Here, wrap this round you if you are cold." And she gave Anna her shawl. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name, you are?" she asked

"Anna Molyneux. Funny how last names are so important. With mine I could probably fire La Carlotta and Kristine D'Anton at the same time, and in two seconds flat. Mybrother, Chase, he's in charge of the opera while my dad's gone. I heard a rumor that he discussed business with the Opera Ghost, but I know it's not true because I started it. Did you know his birthday's coming up? I already know what I'm getting him. Heaven knows he needs a pet. He's barely an adult and he's trying to run the Opera Populaire! So, what's your name?" She stared blankly at the wall of the building as she speedily talked, pretending to pay no attention to the shawl draped around her. This was making her day: stone horse riding and acting practice one after the other.

Estelle smiled at the young girl, glad to find someone so friendly and open. "My name is Estelle Brooks. I come from England, where I was a great star at the Covent Garden Opera House. But I came here to escape..." she stopped short and bit her lip, as if she had said too much.

Anna's eyes flicked with curiousity for only a moment, then went back to their blank stare. The gears in her mind whirred as thoughts sped past just barely slow enough to comprehend. "Sounds interesting. I never heard of that opera. Were you there your whole life? I heard some strange things about English people. Sorry, what were you saying?"

Estelle laughed, delighted with the little girl, who took her mind from far more oppressive matters. "I did live at the English opera house for most of my life. My mother was a gypsy though, so we did a lot of travelling when I was very small."

"Hmmm?" pardoned Anna, in the proccess of observing a hangnail. "A gypsy in England?"

"Why certainly! Of course you can get gypsies in England, my mother ran away with them, away from her home in Italy to be with my father. She moved to England after I was born and I was given into the care fo my aunt, the Opera's patroness when she died."

"Not your dad's?" Anna grabbed the hangnail with her teeth and pulled on it.
