Alyna quickly helped scenery move the new background in and then moved sidestage to watch and rest a bit, since she wasn't to come in this scene. She felt better this opera, knowing all of its singers and ballerinas better. She waved to Solange, who had just moved into her spot on stage.

Erik was certain this scene would go well, with all of the practicing Solange did. Since Kristine wasn't in this scene at all, Solange would definetly have to step it up to the crowds expectations, but he didn't think that too difficult.

Anna, seizing the quick intermission, stood on her chair and looked around at all of the guests there. She recognized quite a few, growing up in the city, but there were a lot that she didn't. She noticed a man with a mask covering half his face in one of the boxes, and wondered if he had thought this was a costume event. She stopped herself from giggling and sat back down, putting her arms around Chase, but this time just to irritate him.

Solange stepped forward and feeling the music around her, began to sing, her phrase in reply to Philippe's. The music was beautiful and she had practiced it long and hard until she could sing it effortlessly and beautifully.
"An angel, the beast of light, is out comforting the weak!" she sang, knowing that this was the best she had ever sung it.
((I'll just go and tell Phil he's required - I'm talking to him on MSN, the lazy git!!))

((Sorry guys!))
Philippe tried not to smile, he was meant to be serious, but Solange was singing well. He sang his reply, his rich tenor in tune with the music. He stumbled over the word 'encourages' though, but managed to cover it in time, hoping no one else noticed.

[ooh...lyrics, yeah!]
Roslin sang the harmonizing when required but remained invisible and still.
Chase watched intently. This was a very important part in the Opera, he had decided.

((Does anyone know where Meg is?)) Alyna held a gasp back as she heard Solange singing. She knew that Solange was good; but tonight she was incredible. A better choice than Carlotta by far. The Phantom, whom she could see clearly from her side of the stage, didn't look at all surprised. ---- Carlotta simply made tutting noises. All of the seats around her that had been occupied at the start were now empty. Everyone seemed to have headaches tonight. ((Sorry I didn't get to compliment you Philippe- when I started typing you hadn't posted yet! I have to go now. Don't end the opera without me. XP))

((Of course, I love lyrics!))
"With cursed love!" Solange finished the verse before the chorus began. It was her favourite part of the scene, the final note was a spectacular high note.

Armand sat in the audience watching the opera progress. Everything was going well.

((That's okay Alyna))
Philippe started the chorus, knowing that Solange would be echoing him at octaves.
"What is this hope I hear?" he sang.
((Ha ha, nicked your idea Sol))

"What is this love I see??"
The music crescendo-ed and Solange knew that the next people to sing would be the chorus girls as they added their own part to the song.
She ran her hands down her sides, touching her dress. Elodie had done a fantastic job and the black wig that she wore covered her blonde curls perfectly. It had been a pain to try to attach it, though.
((Sorry, spelling!!!))

Yves watched as the two sang together. They sounded beautiful as a duet.
Jeanne luckily wasn't on stage for this number and she was able to take a break. She looked around for a friendly face she could stand next to.

Daniella rushed from the back door of the stage panting slightly, she came to stand by Jeanne, "sorry," she whispered, "had trouble with my shoes." _______________________________
Zarek was very frusterated! all his beautiful work was being pushed and shoved around like furniture! He was sure to have a talk with Madame Giry later about replacing stage hands.

Kristine smiled backstage. Solange truely was a breathtaking performer. as the duet ended, Kristine relaxed backstage, there was another scene before she had to return.

Alyna winced as a servant abruptly came up to her and started to fix her hair, which had come out of its bun in the middle of the first scene. She wasn't used to this, and would have rather left it alone anyway. She tried to ignore the maid and looked at the audience seated in the lower section. They looked satisfied, which came to no surprise. The singers were doing better, if possible, than in the two practices she had had with them.

Jeanne stifeled a laugh. "Something always goes wrong on an opera night." Jeanne looked over to Zarek. "Poor guy looks upset. What do you think is the matter with him?" Jeanne asked Daniella.
