Roslin and the Chorus Girls began to exit. They weren't needed for a while, at least not for two scene's of duets and solos. Roslin leaned against one of the backdrops back stage. She then heard a whisper. "Rose, I have everything prepared. If she is to progre..." Erik began to whisper. "No, Erik!" she whispered harshly back. "You have enough on your hands already with that ballerina. Kristine isn't ready." "You know you can't stop me, but help me and less harm might come to Ms. D'Anton." He was then gone. Rose knew he was right. She went to the dressing room to powder her face and think.

As Chante came off with the chorus girls, she heard a whispered conversation between Roslin and some man she couldn't identify. Confused, she peered around the backdrop, but Roslin was already headed towards the dressing rooms. It was something about Kristine... Chante shook her head. None of her business, to be sure. She sat behind the backdrops, listening to the Opera and waiting for the next Chorus cue, which wouldn't be for a while.

(("That ballerina"? Ooh, I'm getting you back for that, Diffy... XD)) Alyna put her hand on Chante's shoulder backstage. "Did you hear any of that?" she whispered. "Chante, if you heard anything you have to tell me what it was. Lives may depend on it."

Roslin hadn't heard anything Alyna had said, but casually walked up, just as any normal girl would have done. "Heard what? Is Carlotta making a fuss again?" Rose laughed, thinking they were discussing the latest gossip. Madame Giry was keeping a close eye on the chorus girls and Alyna, they would need to be on stage again soon.

"When isn't she?" Alyna's expression changed from worry to laughter. I was told to act. "I swear I could hear her complaints from centerstage, and she's in the back row! Which no one else seems to be in any more." Her hand didn't leave Chante's shoulder.

Chase watched the performance with interest. Every once in a while he would bump Anna to make sure she wasn't snoring or messing with her neighbor.

Anna, who had been counting the times that Chase had elbowed or shouldered her, whispered to him as he did it again, "Seventeen."

"It's nice to know you've been paying attention to your tutor," Chase teased.

Anna attempted a curtsy while sitting down. "Was that a compliment, sir?"

Solange watched as the chorus girls made their way offstage.
((What comes next? It's not on the opera summary and I want to check if my characters are doing anything))

Chante looked back and forth from Roslin to Alyna. She gave Alyna a pointed glance and then said, "Good job, both of you. I'm off to get some water." Her eyes flicked over to Alyna in what she hoped was a subtle hint, and then she turned and headed further backstage for a drink. Hopefully Alyna would follow her and no one else would. If lives did indeed depend on it, she would have to tell Alyna the few words she had heard.

((Yeah, who's in the next scene?)) "I have to go get some more flour for my feet before the next scene starts. I'll see you later, Rose." She turned and followed Chante backstage. "Sorry if I hurt your shoulder," she told her when they met up.

Chante laughed. "It's fine. I'm not as weak as I look." She looked with distaste down at her rail-thin form. "Now, you were asking what words were exchanged behind that set," Chante clarified.
"I will tell you all that I heard, on one condition. And that is that you tell me who she was talking to." Chante waited for an answer. "I know it wasn't any of the opera boys, or I would have known their voice."

"Her older brother. He came to see the opera she was going to be in, in case she got another big singing part last minute like last time." Most of that was true. She hoped Chante would be satisfied with that answer.

((UGH! I HATE storms....I had yet another fried PC-sorry... )) Kristine stood just out of sight of the audience and rubbed the palms of her hands together to warm them briefly before running onstage durring a blackout for her next scene. She had seen the dancer gossiping about something, but couldn't catch what it was.
