"I've been doing the same," said Alyna. "You know, it might be safer as two people exploring than as one." ((Gah! You edited your post. Now I have to edit mine, to annoy you.))

((eheh..not only did i edit i posted twice...oops))
"true...that might be fun," Daniella said looking over to one of the shadows made by an onlooking gargoyle, "are you ever scared, i mean that the Opera Ghost is going to jump out and get you?" She said this with the air of a small child being frightened by the booggyman, mockingly. Not to Alyan, but jokingly as if it were the funniest thought in the world.

((Whatever, it's fun to make strange dolls. ;D)) "Isn't everyone?" asked Alyna, half serious ((which also meant half joking, you know)). "Not really. If he's there, he'd make his presence known before he attacked. Like a hanging rope from the ceiling to hang you from, or something like that. It's his style." Alyna paused for a moment, thinking of what to say next. "Anyway, it's fun to know that you might be in danger every step you take."

Daniella smiled, still looking in the shadows...she was deciding if it would be a good idea to invite, or tell Alyna what loomed there.

Alyna realized that Daniella was staring at something in particular. Instead of asking her what it was, she simply leaned over a bit and looked as well. She waited for Daniella to say something.

Noticing that Alyna was now looking at the same place, she asked, "you wouldn't want to...i mean you aren't interested in going somewhere now are you?"

After checking the time on a nearby tower, Alyna replied, "We'd miss dinner, but I don't really mind. The only tunnel I found, the Phantom chased me out of." As an afterthought, she added, "Though maybe I should change into something easier to run in, just in case."

Daniella laughed, "okay you have 5 minutes, if you aren't back by then i'm going in without you." Her eyebrows lowered and she nodded her head, still smiling.

About three minutes later, Alyna returned in man's pants and a blouse. She had put her hair up in a bun, and as always still wore her necklace. "Okay, I'm ready," she announced. "Lead the way."

Daniella set her note book down on the crate, she'd come back for it later. next she walked over into the shadows slipped through a little slit in the wall of a passage, and disappeared.
there where stairs leading immediately down wards because well, there was no where else to go from the roof. on the wall to the right sat a half burnt candle, Daniella picked it up out of its mount and rustled in her clothes to find a match book. as she opened it you could see that there were only two matches left. she lit the candle and turned back to see if alyna was following.

Curiously, Alyna followed after Daniella. "You do realize," she whispered when she saw the match book, "That if we keep the candle lit, our eyes won't adjust to the dark and we won't be able to see outside of a few feet around us?"

"We aren't in a danger spot yet," Daniella whispered back over her sholder. "besides, you really want to go down these steep steps without a light?" Daniella continued down the stairs.

Alyna shrugged, and followed Daniella. "It's your passageway," she stated.

the stairs went on forever! one creaky step after another. until they came to what seemed like a dead end, Daniella turned the corner and entered a empty room with no windows no exits, no room is the wrong word to decribe it, more like a cuboard. a small cave made up of four walls. Daniella stopped. and waited for Alyna to reach the last step.
