The audience was filling up the seats in from of the stage as 'Le le Roi Amour' was going to be beginning in only a few minutes time. Madame Giry was theatening ballerinas who were lagging and making sure that all of the backstage hands were in their places and ready to begin. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Roslin was wearing a peasant type of dress, her outfit for the performance. She stood with the other chorus girls. The first scene was a scene on the streets of the king's kingdom where the peasants were discussing the coming marriage. She stood still. She knew that when the curtains opened, she would stay still as La Carlotta would cross the stage singing a squeaking solo. Then the actors would begin, and then the chorus girls as the ballerinas danced.

Kristine stood in the wing, watching as the chorus girls adjusted their costumes, she couldn't really believe it. SHE had been chosen as the lead...Kristine only hoped she would fulfill everyones expectations. adjusting her corset, she watched as la carlotta began her aria

Erik smiled at Kristine from above. She wouldn't let him down. He put wax in his eyes as the production began and sat quietly.

In the orchestra pit Lynette tuned her violin and arranged her music, preparing for the opening scene. She would play a violin duet with one other person during the performance and she was nervous for things to get under way. When she was playing, she forgot everything...but until it started all she could do was stare nervously at the cast.
She spotted her new friend Rose in the line of chorus girls and smiled, although she doubted Rose could see her from such a great distance.

Daniella was stretching as many of the dancers where, limbering up for their routine. The atmosphere was tense as everyone scuttled around, making last minute changes and costume maintenance. Soon the play would start, it was only a sort time now that, Meg and Charlotte would lead the rest of them on to the worn wood of the stage.

The curtains opened and Madame Giry held her breath slightly as the performance began.

La Carlotta stepped on stage and began to sing a cheerful song (well, it would have been if someone else was singing it). A murmur ran through the audience at the choice in soprano singer, but they kept their seats. As the song finished, La Carlotta moved backwards to leave room for the ballerinas. - Alyna, dressed in uncomfortable outfit made to look like a young peasant's, waited behind the curtains with the rest of the ballerinas. When it was their time to go on, she had to wait a moment to move forward, since she was in the back row.

Jeanne shifted uncomfortably. The fabric of the costume was unbarable. Whoever came up with the design should be drawn, quartered, and hanged.
Her feet felt light as she tiptoed to see the viewers. Their faces were lit with delight and clapped with enthusiastic naitivity. Jeanne stepped back and stretched a bit more. She felt limber and exhilerated for once.

Philippe watched from backstage, bouncing slightly on his toes. He didn't want to admit it, but he was nervous. He had never had a role this big before, and here he was, the KING.
He was glad that Carlotta had not been given the lead. While she had a fantastic range and was a perfect singer, her attitude made it completely unbearable.

Kristine breathed deeply, waiting for her cue. When it came, she cleared her head of her thoughts and began the aria. when she heard herself hit the first note, she sighed inwardly and relaxed. Maybe this was going to be alright after all.

As planned, the ballerinas circled around the two lead singers. Alyna, though she hardly practiced, made no mistakes. She had never had stage fright before, and this time wasn't any different.

Carlotta and Kristen where now on stage together, they're duet song was full of anger and mistrust, Carlotta (the kings sister) seemingly was not to found of Kristen's character. Daniella and the others moved back and forth to the music portraying the tension between the two with jerky, sharp steps.

Roslin, along with a few other chorus girls had now moved over to the other side of the stage to make room for Charlotte and Meg as they were soon entering for their duet solo.

As the performance went on, Lynette played each song seamlessly, putting more emotion into her playing than usual. The song ended and another began, and still she wasn't aware of her suroundings.
Then the king came on stage, and her attention was riveted.

Erik watched from above, taking the wax out of his ears as he noticed Kristine's Big Solo was approaching. He was also reviewing Phillippe. He hadn't heard much of the young tenor's voice, this was his 'try-out' or next time.
